James Arthur Ray: The beginning of the end of for-profit spirituality?

This man sits in jail for a second night tonight, and it makes me very happy. On October 8, 2009 two people died under his watch and rule during an expensive $10,000 “Spiritual Warrior” retreat: James Shore and Kirby Brown. A third paritcipant, Liz Neuman died a week later in hospital as a result of her injuries suffered at the Angel Valley Retreat Center in Yavapai County near Sedona, Arizona. How am I going to sell my art?

I am a creative person, one might consider an artsy type. I’m an amateur photographer and computer graphics type of artist. Apparently I am an example of the perfect mark to be recruited into an expensive, cultic and potentially dangerous and damaging institution such as Landmark Education, Choice Center** or the Legacy Center**. My Story
The Transformation Skeptic blog is about being aware, skeptical and critical of controversial Large Group Awareness Trainings (LGATs), otherwise known as; New Age personal development groups, self-awareness trainings, or leadership seminars that typically have 3 levels of advancement. They claim to give you an extraordinary life, all the keys to living a successful life, career, etc. You, or someone you know may have been or could be urged to 'enrol' by a friend, family member or employer. Beware!

If I can help people be aware of the possible dangers they face, or someone they care about, before joining an LGAT that is what I want to do. If I can contribute to putting an end to government tolerance of and help with future legislation against these irresponsible and predatory con-artists, that is I want to do. I am well aware of intimidation tactics and threats these groups and their well-paid lawyers use towards anyone who dare to criticize them. I am also aware of my rights to free speech.
And I have a lot to say.
